I'm a blogger, where's my free stuff?

I've recieved a couple of emails this week, the tone of which has been -

" Wow, I LOVE your stuff! I'd love to write about it on my blog..."

Great I say, I'll send you whatever pictures and information you need.

"No, you don't UNDERSTAND" I recieved in reply. "I need to FEEL your jewellery. I need to be able to take pictures of it on my hand..."

Well, I think I DO understand actually, and you know, I'm kind of peeved, about the concept of someone trawling the web for stuff they like, and then essentially guaranteeing a glowing review for an unreturned  piece that happens to fit them perfectly. 

I know it isn't a black and white issue-this sort of blogger  approaches vendors whose goods she likes, so negative reviews don't enter the scenario, but even so, it just feels wrong. As a reader of such a blog, Id want to know if the person posting, and eliciting my trust, is a professional "cash for comment" poster, or the voice of a genuine enthusiastic  admirer.

Anyway, as ever, Caveat emptor(or at least, seller beware), and don't forget you can look up traffic rankings on sites such as   www.technorati.com  and  www.alexa.com 

(and, as it happens, the site in question looks quite good, filled as it is with this girls bright shiny new things, but her traffic is a fraction of my fledgling blog). So where's all my free stuff then :)
