This month's madness is that we are moving house (in two weeks in fact, and Ross is speaking in Istanbul tommorow, so I don't know how we'll do it, but that's by-the-by).

I'm having a great time compiling a wish list of inspiring things to live with. Top picks at the moment are the Buckyball above (technically Mathieu Lehanneur 's Bucky's Nightmare). It's a shape conforming ottoman, and there's no way the children are going to be shown the 'fun things you can do with new furniture' picture above.

I'd like to pair it with this Bouroullec Cloud tile system from http://www.kvadratclouds.com/.
As well as being obviously sculptural, the great thing about this is that it is made of felt- another favourite material of mine, and that it will have some acoustic softening effect. Maybe I should cocoon the cot with it..
I thought the article below about the ottoman was great. Seems it IS possible for a beanbag to raise a few hackles(no pun intended, but I'll take it). Ross is an old admirer of Buckmister Fuller, and this is as close as we're likely to get to a geodesic dome in Surry Hills . I love that these designs are a fusion of art, science and interior design, and also have a functional aspect. Doesn't have a lot to do with jewellery per se, but keeping the jeweller happy sure does :)

Hina Aoyama

                                                                 Lettre de Voltaire, 2007

I've really got a thing about paper at the moment. Maybe it comes from having worked with hard metals for 20 years. I love these delicate paper-cuts by this artist. You can see more at
