Bad eggs damage real design in this country

I thought this cover of the Sydney Morning Herald , Aug 6th 2011, was really extraordinary.
The big banner at the top announces the Good Weekend Design issue enclosed, but there is also a large ad across the bottom of the page for Matt Blatt, an Australian furniture supplier. Matt Blatt has for years specialised in badly made knockoffs of branded designer pieces. I thought it was an incredible example of the lip service that is paid to design in this country, and the lack of support designers are really offered culturally.

Pendants for little ones

These are some of our silver pendants for children. I made them as christening pendants, but a mother could just as easily wear them as a child .
I made the first one with a favourite bunny on one side, and Leda on the reverse for my daughter.


We have a selection instore for $245, with a letter on one side, and the reverse can have a symbol or picture, or be left plain.
With lots of notice, we can also custom make with a short name, a symbol or favourite toy for $385. Simple images like a toy plane or animal look great. I'm just about to make one with a tooth fairy to console my four year old about the loss of her first tooth. I'll make it a different shape so she can wear it next to the round bunny pendant, and have a growing collection at milestones.

Our Garden of Delights Launch, Vogue's Fashions Night Out 2011

 We launched our new Garden of Delights collection in partnership with Vogue's Fashion's Night Out. We managed to take some photos before things got too busy. Sydney CBD was amazing on the night, with events all around the city, and models and fashionistas everywhere. We had amazing gift bags for guests who tweeted and shared on Facebook.

 The collection will be revealed on our website over the coming weeks, but I've included a couple of pieces below. Highlights include a 1.02ct Fancy Yellow Diamond ring, and a gorgeous 2.37ct Pink Sapphire ring that you can see on the home page of our website

Our launch on Vogue's Fashion's Night Out

Vogue's Fashions Night Out is the biggest shopping event in the world.
The event is free throughout the Sydney CBD, and registration is not required. All you need to do is tell your friends and colleagues, and come into the city to enjoy all the excitement of the event.
